Our mission trip to Manila, Philippines, has wrapped up with a wealth of insights and connections.
Our journey began at the INDX Summit, organized by Fintech Alliance PH Inc., where we engaged with industry leaders and government partners on the latest in digital finance. Alexander G. Seminiano from Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) shared BPI’s modernization efforts with our delegates from DriveWealth Singapore and AND Solutions.
Day 2 highlighted FinTech’s efforts in the Philippines to enhance financial inclusion and access to funding. We visited Kaya Founders, where Danielle King provided valuable insights into the country’s investment landscape.
On Day 3, we had a Courtesy Call with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), part of Project Nexus aimed at facilitating cross-border payments within ASEAN. Our discussions with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Department of Trade and Industry, and the Philippine Board of Investments (BOI) focused on future FinTech licenses, tokenization, and investment roles in the nation’s economic agenda. The day concluded with a networking dinner with Fintech Alliance PH Inc.
Day 4 featured meetings with RCBC, Credit Information Corporation (CIC), PJS Law Official, and Exceller Corporate Support (ExcelCSI). We extend special thanks to Lito Villanueva for organising these meetings and to Eugene S. Acevedo of RCBC for his valuable time.
On our final day, we visited UnionBank of the Philippines’ Innovation Campus to learn about their use of data science and AI to enhance customer value. We also enjoyed a networking lunch and mixer hosted by Digital Pilipinas, where delegates connected with key banks and FinTech companies. The evening included a session on cybersecurity and data privacy by Anton Mauricio from the National Development Company.
A huge thank you to all the delegates and the SFA team for making this trip memorable and productive. Until next time, Manila!
