As AI evolves from assisting decisions to taking action, agentic AI has the potential to reshape how payments are initiated, authorised and executed. From AI agents making purchases on behalf of consumers to automating business payments and treasury operations, it could unlock greater efficiency and enable new business models.
However, wider adoption will depend on payment infrastructure, governance and controls evolving alongside the technology, with robust approaches to identity, authorisation, trust and accountability.
This session will explore how agentic AI could transform consumer and business payments, treasury and financial operations; what it will take to move from experimentation to adoption; opportunities to automate payment processes and improve cash flow visibility; and how governance, segregation of duties and internal controls must evolve to ensure autonomous transactions remain secure, transparent, compliant and auditable.
